A great week came to a close for the Oceania swimmers in Singapore at the 22nd World Aquatics Championships. Personal bests and National Records have tumbled on all 7 days of their competition.
Day 7 consisted of 7 individual swims and 3 relays for the Pacific islanders. This was across 4 disciplines.
Needless to say, the week ended as it had begun with another personal best and 2 National Records.
So, that’s an incredible haul of 43 personal bests and 19 National Records achieved by the 13 Oceania teams at these championships.
Figures that reflect not only the talent and hard work of all the swimmers, but also their coaches, administrators and support teams that are constantly striving to make a difference across the islands.
Clear progression and development highlighted on the world stage, and a very solid base to build upon.
Rightly, the teams will be heading home with a strong sense of shared Oceania pride and looking forward to their next opportunities in the pool.
